in Boston after an easy flight, though American Airlines aren't the best. Pick up the car and then, as usual, the sat nav proceeds to direct me in the strangest route to Rockport, apparently through the industrial suburbs of Boston rather than the coast. Frustating to obey and turn left and then have it say "recalculating." Got to Rockport at about 4pm - a lovely little coastal town about an hour from Boston, or two if you use a sat nav. The Eagle's Nest hotel is fine too, nice location, nice welcome. Walked around town, then drove to the nearby state park to watch the sunset, and then back to Rockport to eat and wander. Weather is a balmy 70 plus. Tomorrow highway 1 and all the crinkly bits. Coastline, not people.

Brilliant stuff - you are in Stephen King country.
